Artist of the Week- Abushady

Nicholas Freiman has been around music his entire life- his mother was an opera singer and met his father, who was a director, at the Amato Opera house in lower Manhattan. He performed there as a young child and began his life as a performer, singer, and actor, although he did not know it at the time. He wrote songs in a high school band, performed at school musicals, and began singing at open mic events around New York since he was just 16 years old. In the beginning, he performed mostly acoustic shows, under the stage name Nick Abushady (Abushady is a family name with Egyptian origins and ties to a sort of secret society of scientists that his Great Grandfather...

Artist of the Week- Kidnap

Kiefer Napolitano's mother wouldn't let him download songs when he was younger, but that didn't stop him from listening to music. Instead, he got his brother to burn him CD's which he would play on the lowest volume possible in order to hide it from his mom. Fast forward to high school and he was riding around Mandeville, Louisiana freestyling with his boys. His goal now? "Dodge the suit n tie." His older brother Taylor goes by T-nap, so Kidnap was a natural nickname for the younger Napolitano. When he dropped his first track "1082" his senior year, he naturally chose Kidnap as his rap name. He will admit, however, that "even though [he] really loves the song to this day,...

Artist of the Week- Faceless Sage

Faceless Sage Faceless Sage was beatboxing with his neighbor 8 years ago when he was first inspired to start writing down lyrics. He hasn't looked back since. While he has only been releasing music for around 9 months, it's been brewing inside him for much longer. The past 9 months have been busy, though, releasing over 40 songs and performing at two separate awards shows. An entrepreneur at heart, it hasn't always been about making music. In order to help the creatives he had come to surround himself with, he started New Sound Records. When one of Sage's friends had a camera, he talked him into joining the company and offering multimedia services. Their company did photo shoots, photo editing, videography, video editing,...

Artist of the Week- Bedrock Sway

Bedrock Sway Bedrock Sway is a 23 year old rapper born and raised in Flint, Michigan (yes, his water is still contaminated). Bedrock, born Levon Epps, knew he wanted to start rapping as soon as he felt the adrenaline rush from his first freestyle to Lil Wayne instrumentals in his friends basement at the age of 11. At 14 he was ready to get serious under his first stage name "Rich Kid Da Don" but soon changed his name to "DTH Von" because Rich Kid didn't quite match his image. While his tracks never got much attention in high school, Sway couldn't be discouraged. Fast forward to September 2018 and Epps rebranded himself as Bedrock Sway and hasn't looked back...
